Soft, chewy cookies that showcase matcha's unique flavor profile alongside sweet white chocolate chips. These bakery-style treats have a tender crumb with a beautiful pale green color and offer the perfect balance of earthy matcha and creamy sweetness. Ingredients

  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons culinary grade matcha powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped macadamia nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt
  3. In a large bowl, cream softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes)
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined
  6. Fold in white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts if using
  7. Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon portions and place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers still look slightly soft
  9. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack
  10. Store in an airtight container for up to one week
  11. Serve at room temperature, pairs beautifully with matcha lattes or green tea
