Ingredients
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons culinary grade matcha powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped macadamia nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt
- In a large bowl, cream softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes)
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined
- Fold in white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts if using
- Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon portions and place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers still look slightly soft
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack
- Store in an airtight container for up to one week
- Serve at room temperature, pairs beautifully with matcha lattes or green tea
