Ingredients

  • 1½ teaspoons culinary grade matcha powder
  • 3 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 cup cold milk (coconut milk works wonderfully)
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes
  • Toasted coconut flakes for garnish

Instructions

  1. Whisk matcha powder with warm water until smooth and no lumps remain
  2. In a tall glass, combine the matcha mixture with cold milk and simple syrup, stir well
  3. Fill the glass with ice cubes
  4. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form
  5. Using a large spoon, gently place dollops of whipped cream on top of the iced matcha to create "cloud" formations
  6. Sprinkle toasted coconut flakes over the cream clouds
